mylife™ OmniPod® The first insulin patch pump
The mylife™ OmniPod® is a new kind of insulin therapy. It is a system with just two elements: the Pod and the Personal Diabetes Manager (PDM).
Extensive distribution in the USA: since 2005 the insulin patch pump is available in the United States – and now in the United Kingdom.
The small, compact Pod is the heart of the system, combining an insulin reservoir, infusion set and pump in one unit, which is stuck directly onto the skin and supplies the patient with insulin for upto three days – without tubing, continuously.
The Pod is controlled wirelessly via the PDM, which at the same time also serves as the blood glucose meter.
